[SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA.] Right before the show started I was ushered to my seat and I felt completely in a different world yet still immersed in the world of fashion. There were so many Korean celebrities that were in attendance, which to me confirmed Gwakhyeonju as one of the best designers in Seoul. This fall Gwakhyeonju brought to our attention the images of creepy-crawly-bugs, obnoxiously sized prints, bold and pastel colours. Most of her looks were either loose fitting or tailored nicely and even a combination of both fits were shown in one entire look. There was a pull-over sweater that had a quirky shape to the sleeves yet was very trendy and I’m interested in seeing when American designers will incorporate something similar into their collections. Another fresh outlook that Gwakhyeonju sent down the runway was a variety of coats that were a hybrid of a puffy winter sport coat and a winter tailored coat. The concept of mixing the two styled coats together gave a new perspective on being stylish in the cold months. Which was really inspirational especially with these past few days in Seoul having been super cold and windy; an ideal time to sport Gwakhyeonju’s innovative designs.
