[NEW YORK CITY.] It’s very important to keep your eyes open to your surroundings regardless of how unpopular the location may perhaps be and to find inspiration in this beautiful world that we wake up to day by day. This fall ’15 collection was inspired by the frequent visits by Lela Rose to the American West and to be specific she credits Wyoming as the core of creative motivation. I’ve been to Wyoming a few times and after seeing this stunning collection makes me seem foolish to not visit the rangeland with a creative sight.
For the autumn season Rose used more soft spring colours like lilac, pale turquoise and magenta infused with familiar fall hues like black, ivory and steel. The use of guipure lace for look #5 and #6 make it a stunning pure cohesive collection with the other fil coupé fabrics. The feather motif beaded tulle gown from look #20 makes me wish I had a mens suit blazer in that same pattern.
