[NEW YORK CITY.] Leaving directly after FSP show at Lincoln Center I had to bolt my way downtown by taking the subway to the location where Michael Kors was presenting his Spring collection. Optimistic Chic was the first words selected by Kors to describe this season and you can say I fit that description. Being very confident about making it on time to his show, knowing that I was uptown and had to make it downtown in 15 chic-minutes. Recently, Kors took his presentation off campus [what I refer to for Lincoln Center] in February 2014 and now this is his 2nd Season away from the tents. Arriving to the show minutes before it started I was able to admire that I was in a room full of legendary fashion icons. Walking to my seat I passed Anna Wintour as she took a gander at my fur, passed Grace Coddington – the queen of Vogue in my opinion, uhh I just felt at home, a place where I belonged. Amongst creative minds that I have attended many shows with before.
Anyways, the lights dimmed dark signifying the start of the show. As the first model appeared in all-white [a good omen] the runway started to illuminate along the path. Expect to dress with ease in the Spring time by having lots of simple sophisticated pullovers paired with either a maxi skirt or a nice denim cuffed jean. Kors mainly focused on the use of spring tones like Daffodil, Indigo, White Floral Georgette, Marigold and Wisteria Lilac that brought freshness and a sense of new life to his collection. Crisp-like fabrics were presented on each look and not to mention the menswear this time around was a validation that Kors is making the necessary steps in the right direction with focusing more towards designing for men. Last spring season I wasn’t too fond of what he designed for men. However, look forward to the blue skies and romanticism in the coming Spring / Summer season.
In case you missed it, My thoughts exactly on his Spring 2014 Collection last year.
