[NEW YORK CITY.] At the peak of my priority list of shows that I must attend this Fall/Winter season, Ovadia & Sons was definitely number one because of many factors such as their love for menswear, they entered this world with a companion just as I did with my twin brother. Their wonderful jewish background speaks to me just the same as their business ethics developed so prematurely. Not to mention, I rooted for them throughout the Fashion Fund competition as they became a finalist. This was my first time attending a show at Pier 59 and it’ll be a show I’ll always remember – sitting front row to a collection that literally had nothing but impeccable looks of luxury.
How can a designer take sweatpants and dress pants – alter their existence to become in sync as one purpose and still demonstrate effortless luxury paired with a blazer and a beanie from look #11. The Black and White ombre wool/mohair coat was a favourite of mine, so are the draw-string cashmere/wool blue dress pant. Normally, I’m not too quick to gravitate to motorcycle leather jackets they’re always nice to look at. Until now, I believe I’ve found one that can actually fit my esthetic and my personality. It’s a very chic piece in a very badass way of making a statement.
After the show I was able to quietly observe Ariel and Shimon celebrate their successful collection with the models and team members. At one point I was able to strategically grab their attention, get them both together and take a quick photo with them. Which was a highlight and a perfect ending to a harsh cold Monday night at Fashion Week.
Special thanks to Megan – Maguire Steele and the Ovadia brothers.
