Patrik Ervell SS18.

[NEW YORK, NY.] A Futuristic California was brought to the runways at New York Fashion Week Men’s by the game-changing Patrik Ervell. The garments showcased were all inspired by the nostalgic memories of the San Francisco subcultures Ervell experienced in his youth. No wonder, Ervell’s shows are so eccentric and beyond weird because he grew up in the Bay Area, the home of all the weird liberals. It’s okay that I say that because I’m from there as well.

This season, Ervell designed amazing shirts that were a vintage mid-century button-up that I desperately want to get my hands on. The famous Ervell air jackets resurfaced this season in a more revised outerwear that kept to the nylon-silicone theme. It really gave me nostalgic feels to the windbreaker suits that I continuously wore in the 90’s that set me up as a fashion icon in middle school. The overly loose-fitted leather shorts were different from the extremely tight fitted leather shorts that I’m accustomed to seeing. Lastly, I have to admit that Ervell’s choice of shoes is so much better than seasons past.
