[NEW YORK CITY.] For the past two years it’s been a goal of mine to attend a fashion show presented by Todd Snyder and I’m so grateful to have achieved that desire. Back in the day when Details Magazine sponsored a push for Menswear recognition during the Summer Spring ’13 presentations at Lincoln Center’s NYPL – Todd Snyder had showed his collection and sadly, I was not there. At the time I was a younger fashion-editor-hopeful that traveled to New York for Fashion’s Night Out and a few seasons later here I was sitting front row…
It’s been said that Snyder pulled from his latest obsession with travels to Europe, mainly the Italian Riviera, the Amalfi Coast and the sun-kissed isle of Capri. Of course, that’s visible with the coastal tan hues and the obvious aqua and sky blues – for that reason he titled his collection “Dipinto di blu” – that is in every way a delightful retreat from the more ordinary ready-to-wear clothes. All of his garments are very crisp and captivating to the eyes irregardless you feel unstoppable in his clothes. It’s so nice to see a designer take modern outerwear and update it for a more fashion forward audience. It also reflects their talent and influence as a designer and Snyder has my attention. Especially with his Ivory Linen Suit Jacket, Light Grey Linen Dress Shirt, Ivory Linen Suit Pant from look #9 and also look #10 and the Grey Technical Marshcoat has me so wet!
